Mike Francesa's Sports Radio Show Comes to Wantagh

Popular WFAN personality broadcasts from Mulcahy's prior to hosting annual John Theissen Children's Foundation Holiday Gala.

Popular WFAN sports radio host Mike Francesa hosted his "Mike'd Up" show from  on Dec. 2.

Francesa, a Long Beach native, brought his afternoon WFAN show to Wantagh prior to hosting the (JTCF) annual Holiday Gala  that evening. During his show Francesa interviewed JTCF founder John Theissen and Mulcahy's owner John Murray.

Throughout the Dec. 2 show at Mulcahy's the popular Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot performed several songs for the WFAN audience. The show was also aired live on the Yankees Entertainment and Sports (YES) Network.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
