Oct. 13: Ghost Lecture, Hunger Awareness, Zumba

1. Thursday is expected to be a rainy day in southeast Nassau County with an 80 percent chance of showers and a high temperature near 71 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Long Island Society for Paranormal Research will be at the Levittown Public Library this evening at 7 p.m. to discuss the Ghosts and Legend of Long Island.

3. In an effort to call attention to the increase in the number of Long Islanders experiencing hunger or food insecurity, Nassau County Legis. David Denenberg, D-Merrick, will host the Long Island Cares Mobile Outreach Resource Enterprise vehicle at his district office at 2818 Merrick Road in Bellmore today from 10 a.m. to noon.
