Oct. 24: Meeting with Superintendent, Food Drive Kickoff, World Series

Your daily guide to what's happening in Wantagh, Levittown and Seaford.

1. Levittown Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Grossane will be at tonight's meeting of the Levittown Community Council taking questions. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. and is located in the district's headquarters at 150 Abbey Lane.

2. The Center for the Alignment of Body, Mind and Spirit in Wantagh will be sponsoring a food drive starting today through Saturday for the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at 2050 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh during our normal business hours today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

3. Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church kicked off its pumpkin patch over the weekend and will remain open until this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, gourds are avaiable on the church's grounds located on 1845 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh.

4. Levittown SEPTA will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Levittown Memorial Education Center on 150 Abbey Lane.

5. Game five of the World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers will be televised tonight at 8:05 p.m. on Fox. A couple local hot spots that will be showing this pivital game of the World Series, which is tied 2-2, are Miller's Ale House in Levittown and Corry's Ale House in Wantagh.
