Oct. 27: 25th Anniversary of Mets Title, Blood Drive, Halloween Contest

1. Today marks the 25th anniversary of the last New York Mets World Series title when the the Amazins defeated the Boston Red Sox, 8-5, in a decisive seventh game at Shea Stadium. Game six of the 2011 World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. tonight on Fox. The Rangers lead the best-of-seven series three games to two and are looking go clinch their first World Series championship.

3.The Nassau BOCES’ Special Education Department is hosting a free parent seminar tonight in Wantagh. The session titled "Transitioning: Life After High School" will be held at the Nassau BOCES Center for Community Adjustment on 2850 N Jerusalem Rd. starting at 6:30 p.m.
