Police: Massapequa Man Arrested in Seaford for Kidnapping

Suspect turns himself in at Seventh Precinct headquarters for July 15 incident involving girlfriend.

A Massapequa man faces kidnapping charges after he forced his girlfriend at gunpoint to drive him to Amityville, Nassau County police said.

Kevin Benloss, 36, surrendered at the Nassau County Police Department's headquarters in Seaford Monday for the July 15 incident.

He allegedly approached a 1998 Nissan that was parked at the intersection of Merrick Road and Clocks Boulevard at 7 p.m. Benloss' girlfriend and  a 29 year-old woman were inside.

He allegedly displayed a gun and made the 29-yeaar old victim out of the car before demanding his girlfriend drive to Amityville.

She drove Benloss to Maple Place, where he got out of the car and fired shots in the air, police said. Nobody was hurt.

The victim called 911, but cops were unable to find Benloss or the weapon.

He was charged Monday with kidnapping, weapons possession menacing and robbery for taking control of the vehicle, cops said.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.
