Powerball Jackpot Tops $300 Million

Saturday's drawing could put a local resident in the money.

The lines for lottery tickets around Wantagh and Seaford could be long as the Powerball jackpot sits at $320 million as of Friday, and could grow.

According to Newsday, lottery officials said as more tickets are sold the jackpot increases. As of Friday morning, a winning ticket would have a cash payout of $198.3 million, according to powerball.com.

In this area, businesses have had a lot of lotto luck recently.

Those looking to find a local lottery outlet should visit the New York Lottery website.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
