Question of the Day: Should Seaford School Board Put Up Revised Budget or Go to Straight to Contingency?

Yesterday Seaford voters the district's proposed $55.2 million budget by 433 votes.The proposed spending plan would have carried a 2.92 percent increase from the district's current budget.

The Seaford Board of Education will now have to decide whether to put up a revised spending plan on June 21 or go straight to a contingency budget. Under a contingency budget spending could only increase 2.26 percent. A contingency budget could put programs like full-day kindergarten and middle school sports in jeapordy.
