Sept. 28: Autism Benefit Comedy Show, Rosh Hashanah, Open Mic Night

1.Wednesday is expected to be mostly cloudy in southeast Nassau County with a high temperature near 72 degrees and a 30 percent chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown tonight. Evening services marking the start of the Jewish new year will take place at Temple B'nai Torah and Farmingdale Wantagh Jewish Center.

3. Comedians Kathy Arnold and Wayne Jude will headline an Autism Benefit Comedy Show at Governor's Comedy Club in Levittown tonight starting at 7 p.m. 

4. The Cup Coffee House in Wantagh will be holding an open mic night tonight from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
