Wantagh-Seaford Mapped by Income, According to Census Data

Check out the map to compare income levels in neighborhoods throughout Wantagh, Seaford and the rest of the country.

Ever wonder how different Wantagh and Seaford are from their neighbors? And is there an income disparity in different parts of town?

This map has the answers. The map was created by a website called Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks, which has mapped out "how much money people make in every neighborhood in every city in America."

This map is a visual depiction of income levels across Wantagh and Seaford. The cooler colors represent higher incomes and the warmer colors represent lower ones.

According to the website: Source on income data: 2007-2011 American Community Survey. Income figures reflect the U.S. Census definition of income. All map boundaries are Census Tracts.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
