Looking Back at 2013 Election

The incumbents won most races, but were there any hidden surprises?

It seemed like an election that went according to expectations.

Incumbents won races in Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead.

Republican Ed Mangano will remain County Executive, while Democrat Kathleen Rice will stay on as District Attorney.

Republicans George Maragos and Maureen O'Connell will remain County Comptroller and Clerk, while in Hempstead GOP Supervisor Kate Murray and Town Clerk Nasrin Ahmad will stay in office.

A ballot question which will allow more casinos in New York state passed, while a proposal raising retirement ages for judges failed.

We want to know your thoughts about what happened Tuesday. Were you surprised by anything that happened? Were the margins of victory what you expected?  Where do you think the town and county are heading in the next few years.
