Bullying

and cyber-bullying are two of the biggest problems in schools across our

country today.   Over 3.2 million students

are victims of bullying each year.

Nearly 43% of kids have been bullied online.  1 in 5 teens admit to sending suggestive

photos/videos to their peers.  95% of

teens use the internet daily.

You will learn what can happen when YOUR kid’s impulses meet powerful

technology.

The presentation will focus on:

·

What

parents need to know about cyber-bullying, sexting & social media

·

Protecting

your tween’s/teen’s online safety & reputation

In this day in age,

practically everyone uses the internet.

However, children and teens often do not realize that what they post and

share online can have serious consequences.   “Children

and teens going online can run into real trouble,” said Wendy Tepfer, executive

director of the Community Parent Center, “and it’s important that parents

understand how they can help their kids navigate the Web safely and keep them

safe from harm.

“Cyber Safety” will be presented free of

charge, but pre-registration is requested
.  To Register for this

program or for more information contact Wendy Tepfer at the Community Parent
