Rugged Run For Respect : Extreme & Unique Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Important info: Waves begin at 10am and continue every 15 minutes ending at

12:30pm.


*Competitive Heats are at 10:00am and 10:15am





Special Olympics New York has teamed up with adventure racing experts and

all things muddy to bring you the Rugged Run for Respect!  This

out-and-back course, complete


with 13 body-bending obstacles, will not only test physical strength and


agility, but mental stability as well.  This 5k challenge consists of


winding trails, steep wall climbs, rope spider webs and much more. Join the


Special Olympics New York team as they get down and dirty!





Rugged Run for Respect


is open to anyone (age 16 and over) willing to channel their inner competitor


(and get roughed up along the way)!  For the triathlon expert, seasoned


runner or cross fit buff, this race will give all


participants a run for their money! Each runner will receive an official Rugged

Run for Respect
race day t-shirt,


access to race day festivities and an experience of a lifetime. Runners can


sign up as individuals or as teams.

For over 42 years, Special Olympics New York has been providing year-round


athletic training and competition for over 61,582 people with intellectual


disabilities (including over 5,000 people in the Long Island Region). 

Special Olympics provides them with the opportunity to demonstrate their

skills, their sportsmanship and their victories.  Not only do the athletes

and their families benefit from involvement in Special Olympics, but the entire

community experiences a certain pride in the athlete’s achievements. 

Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion

and human dignity
for people with intellectual disabilities through

sports.
