 Wantagh-Seaford  See map

The Center for the Alignment of Body, Mind and Spirit in Wantagh will be sponsoring a food drive for the Harry Chapin Food Bank from Monday, October 24 through Saturday, October 29.  Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at 2050 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh during our normal business hours. (Mon-Wed-Fri: 9-1 & 3-7, Tue: 4-7, Sat: 9:30-12:30)

The Harry Chapin Food Bank provides emergency food where and when it is needed, sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educates the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island. We collected 800 pounds of food at our last event and our goal this time is to reach 1000 pounds. But we need your help!

To thank you for your donation, you will receive a Gift Card for Complimentary Services, including Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage, Reiki, Nutrition Counseling and Spiritual Counseling.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
