The Conte family of East Meadow is gearing up for tonight's Rally For Ryan, a fundraiser for their son who was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare but highly aggressive form of pediatric cancer.

Local restaurants have donated raffle prizes and gift basket items, including golf bags, wine, liquor, tickets to Saturday Night Live's premiere dress rehearsal and more.

The fundraiser is being held from 7-11 p.m. at Mulcahy's in Wantagh. Tickets are $55 per person and include open bar, food, a DJ, dancing, raffles, 50/50 and a live auction. (Raffle tickets will be available for purchase the night of the fundraiser.)

Timmy Brennan, whose family has been friends with the Conte family for more than 20 years, having played soccer together in school and on travel teams, told Patch a ton of friends have pitched in to help with the fundraiser, even some who have flown across country from Los Angeles.

"That says a lot about how just because high school is over, you never forget where you came from or when your friends need you!" Brennan said.

Funds will help support Ryan's family.

Mulcahy's is located at 3232 Railroad Ave. in Wantagh. For more information regarding, contact either Vickie Vuotto at vickiev1208@yahoo.comor 690-1965 or Lori Biscardi atlbiscardi@yahoo.com or 526-0603.
