Help Seaford Resident Buy Houseboat

Help area residents in need through GoFundMe.

A friend of a Seaford man is looking to help him purchase a new houseboat. The local resident lost his original houseboat during Superstorm Sandy.

Stephen Danseglio created the campaign to raise $28,000. As of Friday morning, he's raised  $1,070.

The page reads:

Hi, my name is Steve Danseglio. Tom Geoghegan is a very dear old friend of mine whose small home was destroyed due to Hurricane Sandy. Tom's home was a houseboat which now has a hole in the bottom and the houseboat next door to his collapsed into it. All of his belongings are gone (appliances, furniture, clothes, bed, photos, etc., have been destroyed). FEMA told Tom that they will not provide any relief and denied him on a 'technicality.' Unfortunately, the bill of sale for the house is at the bottom of the ocean. Tom bought his home at 220 Shore Road, Seaford, NY in 1997. Now he has no home to return to. What remains of his home is no longer habitable or re-buildable. His houseboat was also not insurable so its a total loss.

Please donate what you can to help Tom purchase another houseboat.

Thank you very much for your consideration,

Steve
