Long Island Heart Walk Slated for Jones Beach Sunday

The American Heart Association will be be holding a Long Island Heart Walk at Jones Beach in Wantagh Sunday morning with more than 3,000 walkers expected.

The American Heart Association-sponsored event will be a celebration of the Long Island community’s effort to fight the number one and four killers of Americans, heart disease and stroke, respectively. The walk is slated to get underway at 10 a.m. by Jones Beach Parking Field 5 with registration starting at 8:30 a.m.

The 2012 Long Island Heart Walk emcee will be Jennifer McLogan from WCBS-TV. Also scheduled to attend the event. The 2012 Long Island Heart Walk Red Cap Ambassador is 13-year old Cecilia Funk, who was born with a heart defect.
