#61: Attend Tree of Hope Lighting Ceremony

Last Hope Animal Rescue in Wantagh is holding its annual tree lighting Saturday.

in Wantagh, which helps rehabilitate and rescue animals, is holding its tree lighting ceremony this Saturday. 

The rescue organization has been hosting the lightings since 1988 and will hold this year's holiday celebration at 4 p.m. on 330 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh. All proceeds from the tree lighting will go towards the rescue and rehabilitation of animals. Refreshments will be served.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
