Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, which is a federal, state and local holiday with most government offices closed.
Most businesses will be closed as well, but there are still a few businesses that will be open on the holiday.
Here's a sampling of some area businesses that Will be open:
Pathmark: if you're looking for that last minute item you forgot to pick up, the Pathmark at 941 Carmans Road in Massapequa will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Uncle Giuseppe's: The marketplace with locations at 37 Hicksville Road in Massapequa and 2330 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow and will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Walmart: The retailer's Massapequa store is going to get a jump on holiday shopping with a marathon session that begins Thursday. They will open at 7a.m.Thursday and will remain open through Black Friday until 11 p.m.
Slap Happy Baking Company: The Wantagh Bakery will be open rom 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Toys 'R Us: You can get a head start on holiday toy shopping at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Massapequa Store located at 5520 Sunrise Highway.
