Free August events

The summer can be a busy and expensive season. Kick back and enjoy the warm weather with some free evening entertainment sponsored by the Town of Hempstead!

With vacations, lunches out, and searching for activities to keep the
kids busy, summer can be a busy and pricey time. Throw in back to
school shopping in August and it can get to be a bit overwhelming.

Luckily, the Town of Hempstead is offering some great affordable (free!)
entertainment opportunities to help finish off your summer. Local parks

serve as the location for outdoor concerts and movie showings. Whether
bringing the kids for some live entertainment or taking the opportunity
for a grown-up night out, these events are a great chance to enjoy a
warm summer evening in one of Nassau County's lovely locales.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
