Getting Crafty at the Milleridge Village

Weekends have gotten a little more crafty than usual at the Milleridge Village this year. The Milleridge Inn in Jericho boasts a historic restaurant and catering facilities, along with an enchanting old-fashioned village filled with gift shops, a florist, bakery and more. Each Sunday, the village transforms into The Market at the Milleridge Village with local crafters offering a wide variety of handmade items, made right here in Long Island.

This Sunday, September 29, will feature 17 vendors, including organizer JGA Creations who offers ornate artwork made from quilled paper. For your bath and beauty needs, peruse Pamela's Potions or Alegna Soap and discover the difference between store-bought and handmade. Just in time for fall, visit Stitches and Hugs and The Country Crab for Halloween and autumn themed home decor, sure to bring a little warmth to any room. Choose a special piece from several jewelry vendors, or sample some Long Island-roasted coffee from East Coast Roast.

Also on hand this weekend will be the administrator of Handmade Long Island (herself a crafter, owner of Duchessa Handmade Jewelry.) Stop by and ask how Handmade Long Island can help local artisan-owned businesses boost visibility, as well as help craft and handmade aficionados find some of the best handmade products on the island. If you can't make it to the Market at the Milleridge Village this week, visit online at www.handmadelongisland.com or on Facebook.

The Market at the Milleridge Village runs from 10am to 4:30pm each Sunday from now through November (weather permitting). In addition to all the vendors, there is often a Long Island farmer offering fresh local produce. The Village is located on the grounds of The Milleridge Inn at 585 North Broadway in Jericho. Stop by and enjoy brunch at the Milleridge Inn, then come say hello in the Village!
