Back-To-School Beauty Must-Haves

Stock up on these back-to-school beauty must-haves.

Don’t let the back-to-school blues get you down. In between pencils, paper and textbooks, why not stock up on some of these school-worthy beauty must-haves?  We found bargains for tweens, teens and co-eds that even the most frugal mom just can’t say no to.

Ideal for tweens, Weleda’s non-petroleum Everon Lip Balm keeps lips moisturized while protecting them from the elements. Subtly scented with hints of rose and vanilla, this certified-natural lip balm contains Jojoba Oil, Cocoa Butter, Lanolin, Carnauba Wax and Rose Extract. $5 at Whole Foods locations island-wide or by visiting usa.weleda.com.

Another favorite is Carmex’s new pomegranate-flavored Ultra Smooth Lip Balm. It glides on smoothly without feeling greasy, and contains SPF 15.  For $1.59, it’s a steal! Find Carmex at Rite Aid and Walgreens.

Your teen will never complain about having a “bad hair day” again courtesy of Scunci’s Linziclip. This neat little hair accessory brings the traditional jaw hair clip to the next level. It’s stylish and comfortable thanks to its cylindrical shape and rounded contours that allow you to lean your head back without the clip digging into your head or neck. We love the metallic blue with rhinestones style, which is $3.99 at CVS locations island-wide.

Who needs soap-on-a-rope when you can have CleanLogic’s Soap Sponge? A must for any dorm, this unique shower companion combines the cleansing benefits of a bar of soap with the exfoliating ability of a sponge. Choose from cucumber melon, peach berry or lavender flavors, which are $4.79 at CleanLogicBodyCare.com.

Prevent acne pop-ups with Clearasil’s PerfectaWash™. It's no-touch dispenser delivers the perfect dose of facial cleanser that helps clear skin in as little as 12 hours.

All you have to do is wet your face and hold hand under the dispenser for the right amount of wash. Lather between hands and gently massage face for 30 seconds.  Rinse with warm water and pat dry.  It’s that simple!  It contains two percent salicylic acid and is $19.99 for starter kit which contains dispenser, two refills and three batteries at mass market retailers island-wide.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
