Connect the (Polka) Dots

Behold the power of polka dots - this fall's must-have.

If there's one statement piece you'll want to add to your fall wardrobe, it is without a doubt, the polka dot.  Polka dots have come a long way. Not just for little girls anymore, this fall's dots are all about pastel hues, big, bold circles and can be found on everything from sweaters, bracelets and scarves. Whatever your budget, you'll want to behold the power of the polka dot!

J. Crew's Tippi Sweater in Polka Dot features larger than life dots in black, pink and navy blue. Our favorite is Azalea Gray - pink dots on a grey merino wool knit. SRP: $89.50 at J. Crew stores in Roosevelt Field and Walt Whitman Mall.

Forever 21's Essential Polka Dot Tie Neck Dress is an adorable and affordable option for adding dots to your wardrobe. At just $17.80, you can easily add a crisp, white blouse underneath or add a chunky belt for a fresh, fall look. At Forever 21 stores in Hicksville and Massapequa.

Old Navy's Printed Polka Dot Scarves let you add a touch of whimsy without going overboard. Choose from orange with white dots or black with white dots. Right now they are on sale for $14 at OldNavy.com or at the Old Navy store in Levittown.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
