Seaford Chamber Holds Spring Egg Hunt

Annual event planned three weeks after Easter holiday to increase odds of better weather.

It was worth the wait.

The Seaford Chamber of Commerce scheduled its annual “spring eggs-travaganza” a few weeks after easter this year in hopes of better weather, and the strategy worked.

Under sunny skies in Seaman’s Neck Park, Seaford’s 21st Annual Spring Egg Hunt welcomed hundreds of children and their families this past Saturday. They searched for thousands of hidden (and not-so-hidden) eggs, many with a surprise inside, At hunt’s end, children filled their gift bags with lots of goodies, then were amused and amazed by the spellbinding sorcery of Magician Bill White. The Giant Pooh Bear and Spiderman were also on hand for photo ops, while local elected officials lent their support.

“We owe much gratitude and appreciation to Seaford’s merchantsand businesses,” said Seaford Chamber ofCommerce President Ken Jacobsen. Without their support and sponsorships, our 21st annual hunt would not have been the success it was.”
