Seaford Meeting to Address Disaster Relief

Forum hosted by Seaford Wellness Council slated for Tuesday evening.

The Seaford community is meeting next week to determine ways to get increased funding for continued recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy and also organize relief efforts in advance of future potential natural disasters.

The special meeting being hosted by the Seaford Wellness Council is scheduled for Tuesday evening starting at 7:30 p.m. in the library at Seaford Middle School. Federal Emergency Management Agency representative Ron Benenati and Steve Rose from Project Hope are scheduled to be on hand to discuss Sandy relief in Seaford going forward. Benenati and Rose will also be helping to assemble a team that will work toward establishing neighborhood volunteer organizations for emergency situations that will "allow the flow of essential resources and information to those who need it most."

“There are other communities on Long who had teams in place before the storm and were able to quickly get much needed aid and funds,” said Seaford Wellness Council President Michael DiSilvio in a letter urging people to attend Tuesday’s meeting. “Let’s not be left out!”
