Morgan Skyler Brodwin Dies at 12

Morgan Skyler Brodwin, of Woodmere, who loved music, dancing and reading, died on Sept. 13. She was 12 years old.

“She faced many challenges in her 12 short years, but she taught us all how to appreciate the simple things in life,” reads a notice of her passing. “Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious and she always had a smile on her face and hugs to share. She will always be in our hearts.”

Morgan was a student at the BOCES Rosemary Kennedy School in Wantagh.

She is survived by her parents Lisa and Randy Brodwin and younger brother Spencer, grandmother Elinor Beerman and grandparents Shirley and Gordon Brodwin, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by grandfather Stuart Beerman.

“Dear Morgan — while our tears will pour out over your loss for a long time to come — they will be sad tears, but not bitter tears for everyone you touched, loved you and did all they could to make your life special,” said Morgan’s uncle, Jahn Brodwin, at her service. “And in the process they made their own lives special — so thank you.”
