Daddy

What does Dear ol’ Dad need the most? Clothes, gadgets, purposeful paraphernalia, or perhaps the ever reliable gift card with its expansive options bound to please everyone are tickling your brain? What about an offering of time, kindness, love, and adoration? After all, as the biological patriarch and safe keeper of the goods (you), there must be some degree of duty required by the children. This catalogs our earthly father, but Another also comes to mind: God the Father, Creator of all and propagator extraordinaire.  It is always the correct time to give thanks to our Heavenly Father, and Father’s day is a considerate and notable , human/American tradition to look beyond the material world with opened eyes and hearts to all that dwells  in the “unseen.” How is it that an “invisible” God manifested everything our five senses delight in and dally with daily? It suggests a downright paradoxical thought pattern sprinkled with opposing concepts and unsettling innuendos, or maybe the answer is wrapped in the mystery, and our faith is the key.  Conflict is a manmade fabrication. The Almighty is Love and Light. Man breeds chaos, fear, prejudice, lies, and hate. Isn’t it time to push the manmade stuff to the side, and embrace the eternal truth and Oneness that is our heritage? Give your Dad a hug, kiss, and a conventional present, but don’t forget your Father whose Soul made yours. Spend some time with The Lord in prayer, scripture, church, or meditation. The choice is ours, and the many paths unfold pointing in various directions some meandering with crooks and turns and others spread forth conspicuously linear. Happy Father’s day to the responsible, caring men who labored for their children. May you have a peaceful day of rest and relaxation.  Happy Father’s Day to the One True God and Father of all for your gifts, love, and constant guidance. May you know how much your children love you, and rejoice in it today and always.

“Holy God, we praise Thy Name; Lord of all, we bow before Thee! All on earth Thy scepter claim, all in Heaven above adore Thee; Infinite Thy vast domain, everlasting is Thy reign.” Ignaz Franz, circa 1770.
