LIRR parking

I sent the below letter to Town Of Hempstead. curious is other residents have the same problem.

--------------------------------

To whom it may concern,
The word is out! To save money on Long Island Rail Road price hikes just drive into Nassau county zones and park in Seaford's large, free parking lot.

This is the type of discussion I've heard recently, and the numbers are there to back it up.Before the price hikes there were extra spots in the Seaford LIRR lot year round. Now residents have to show up early to fight for the last few.

I am a resident of not only the Town of Hempstead but the Hamlet of Seaford.  I have a resident sticker on my vehicle and a parking lot at my local station that are now useless. When I walk through the the non-resident lot it seems like every other car has a Town of Oyster bay, or Town of Babylon sticker and I'm sure there are many other cars from those towns parked in the lot that don't have stickers.

Many TOH and Seaford residents are left missing trains and needing to make other arrangements because of the full lot. We live in this town, pay taxes in this town and live in a more congested area because, for many of us working in new york city, it makes our commute a little easier.

Seaford's LIRR station parking lot is the biggest lot along the entire Babylon line. There is plenty of room to expand the resident only parking and discourage residents of other towns from overcrowding our station.

Thank You for your time.
