Wantagh BoE Gets it Right

Voters in the Wantagh School District ratified the establishment of a 5-year, $5-million Capital Reserve Fund, on Tuesday.  This fund will help insure that critical infrastructure repairs and maintenance can be funded in the future, and will alleviate some future debt service costs (interest on bond borrowing) while helping to improve the financial health of the district.

Kudos to the Board of Education, but especially to Adriana Silver, our (new) Business Official, for pulling this together.

It is also gratifying that there was overwhelming acceptance of this strategic proposal by the Wantagh community, indicative of a return to peaceful confidence in our school district.
