Bethpage Man Arrested for Grand Larceny Act in Cedar Creek Park

Police say Robert Caffera used stolen credit cards to obtain merchandise valued over $2,000.

Nassau County detectives arrested a Bethpage man at his home on Saturday morning and charged him with committing grand larceny in Cedar Creek Park earlier this year.

According to detectives, Robert Caffera, 53, entered a vehicle parked in the Wantagh section of on Jan. 16 and took two credit cards, which he used to make purchases at several Nassau County retail stores to obtain merchandise valued over $2,000. Detectives said Caffera also entered a vehicle parked at in Seaford on Aug. 12, 2008 and took a credit card from the automobile, which used it to make purchases at stores in Nassau County to obtain merchandise valued over $250.

Caffera is being charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, eight counts of second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
