Car Crashes Into Seaford Convenience Store

A car crashed into a Seaford convenience store Monday morning causing both exterior and interior damage to the store.

The car smacked into the side of on 4007 Merrick Road. Police at the scene declined to provide details of the incident as they are still investigating.

The Town of Hempstead Building Department was inside the store late in the morning surveying the damage, which occurred around the cash register area of the store.

One Stop Smoke Shop owner Peter Petakis was not at the store when the car hit the building, but said he heard it was the case of someone hitting the gas instead of the break.

Petrakis said he is grateful there were no injuries. He was at the store cleaning up damage soon after the crash and is unsure when the shop will reopen.

“We’ll get it back together,” he said.

One Stop Smoke Shop is located directly next to a , which did not incur any damage from the crash.
