Commack Man Arrested in Wantagh for Sixth DWI

The arrest occurred early Thursday morning on the Southern State Parkway.

A Commack man was arrested on the Southern State Parkway near Wantagh Thursday morning on what police said was his sixth driving while intoxicated (DWI) offense.

According to New York State Police, Carlos Lennon, 24, was arrested at approximately 4:45 a.m. after he crashed his 1997 Ford into a guide rail on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway near exit 28 in Wantagh.

Lennon allegedly had five prior arrests for DWI, including a previous conviction for felony DWI in Suffolk County, state police said.

Lennon was charged with felony DWI and aggravated operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Nassau County First District Court.

The arrest information was supplied by the New York State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.
