Crime Nearby: Man Killed in Seaford, Tires and Rims Stolen

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • Six bricks were removed from the front of a residence on Barbara Court on Nov. 23.
  • On Nov. 29, tires and rims were removed from a vehicle that was located on Foster Court.
  • The tires and rims were taken from a car that was located on Julia Lane. The car was left on paving stones. This happened on Nov. 29.
  • On Nov. 1, Brian Richard, 40, of Bellmore, was arrested on Merrick Road, Bellmore and charged with driving while ability impaired and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Nov. 2, Charles Hess Jr., 46, of Farmingdale was arrested on Merrick Road near Midwood Avenue, Bellmore and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, reckless driving and seven violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • Between Dec. 3 and Dec. 5, there was an incident of criminal mischief reported at STS Tires.
  • On Dec. 5, an inflatable snowman was reported stolen from the front of a home on Orange Street.

 

East Meadow

  • The frame of a front door on Chester Drive was reported broken on Nov. 28.
  • On Nov. 23, tires and rims were removed from a parking lot of A.M. Marca, which is a business located on Newbridge Road.
  • Kevin Tillery and Henry Oliver, both of Hempstead, were arrested at Marshall’s for shoplifting from the store. The men allegedly took $84 worth of property from the store on Dec. 3.
  • A pocketbook was removed from the Canterbury Pub on North Jerusalem Road on Nov. 4.

 

Merrick

  • Graffiti was found on a wall at Merrick Avenue Middle School on Nov. 24.
  • Tires and rims were removed from a car on Ott Lane. The car was left on cinderblocks. This incident happened on Nov. 27.
  • A Red Box DVD vending machine located on Merrick Avenue was vandalized on Nov. 28.
  • On Nov. 29, the Valero gas station in North Merrick was robbed. To see the whole story, click .
  • On Nov. 29, Shaun Sukul, 26, of Merrick, was arrested on Merrick Avenue near Kirkwood Avenue, Merrick and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A vehicle window was broken on Nov. 29. The car was located on Madison Street.
  • A vehicle located on Madison Street was damaged on Dec. 1.

 

Seaford

  • On Nov. 26, a Bellmore man was killed after being hit by a car in Seaford. See the full story .
  • On Nov. 30, Daniel Apuzzo, 18, of 1st Street, West Babylon was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Jackson Avenue, Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated and five violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • Three windows were reported broken at the Seaford Avenue Middle School on Nov. 30.
  • On Nov. 30, Robert Moschella, 21, of Massapequa, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct Stationhouse in Seaford and charged with assault in the third degree.
  • On Nov. 30, Nicholas Colantonio, 23, of Seaford, was arrested at the Nassau County Correctional Facility, East Meadow and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 3, Brian Bernhard, 51, of Massapequa, was arrested in Island Chanel Road, Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • On Dec. 5, Thomas Banks, 29, of Massapequa Park, was arrested at the Seventh Precinct Stationhouse in Seaford and charged with burglary in the second degree.

 

 

Wantagh

  • Sometime between Nov. 18 and Dec. 3, a complainant discovered that assorted jewelry was missing from her home on Dock Lane.
  • On Nov. 29, jewelry and electronics were stolen from a residence on Jones Avenue. The point of entry was the rear window.
  • The bathroom of the baseball field on Duck Pond Drive was damaged on Nov. 29.
  • On Dec. 4, Robert Richards III, of Seaford, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Beech Street, Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
