Crime Nearby: Man Shot in Bellmore, Gas Station Robbed

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bellmore

  • Hasan Kaya, 49, was shot and killed in front of his residence on East Meadow Avenue in North Bellmore on Nov. 6. Read more
  • Donald Price, 54, of Bellmore was arrested at the Massapequa Long Island Railroad parking lot on Nov. 5. He was charged with resisting arrest,  third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and second-degree harassment.
  • Unknown suspect(s) stole vehicle springs and a drive shaft from the rear yard of a home on Merrick Road sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 3.
  • A complainant discovered the passenger side window of his 1989 white Ford was broken and unknown suspect(s) stole a CD player from the dashboard on Nov. 4. The car was parked on Sunrise Highway.
  • A vehicle parked on Bergen Street was damaged with a pellet from a paintball gun sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 3. 
  • Sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, a car parked on Davenport Place in North Bellmore had three tires punctured.
  • On Oct. 31, suspects spit at and damaged a complainant's car door handle on Bellmore Avenue.
  • Sometime between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2  graffiti was sprayed on a sign posted at the Martin Avenue Elementary School in North Bellmore.

 

East Meadow

  • Items were removed from a vehicle on Post Street on Oct. 30.
  • A GPS was removed from an unlocked vehicle on Gates Avenue on Oct. 30.
  • On Oct. 31, a suspect shot a BB gun at Agape Karate School located at 220 East Meadow Avenue, causing the window to shatter.
  • Sometime between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, a vehicle window was broken. The vehicle was located on Chestnut Avenue.
  • A shoplifter removed $109 worth of items from CVS on Hempstead Turnpike on Nov. 1.
  • On Nov. 1, a vehicle window was broken. The vehicle was located on Blackstone Avenue.
  • Sometime between Oct. 1 and Nov. 3, a residence on Bellmore Avenue was damaged by BBs from a BB gun.

 

Merrick

  • The tires of two vehicles on Sherman Street were punctured on Oct. 31.

 

Seaford

  • On Nov. 2, James Brunhuber, age 55, of Seaford, was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Nov. 2, an unknown suspect entered a home on Daleview Avenue. Assorted jewelry was reported missing.

 

Wantagh

  • An unknown suspect(s) punctured a tire of complainant’s 2003 Chevy Impala. The car was located on Woodland Avenue.
  • Sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, a lock was removed an cigarettes were stolen from the Valero Gas Station on Wantagh Avenue.
  • On Nov. 5, Andrew Tritschler, age 41, of Hempstead, was arrested on Wantagh Avenue near Demott Avenue, Wantagh and charged with criminal impersonation in the second degree and two violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
