Bellmore

  • A Bellmore man was arrested in Massapequa for possession of crack cocaine with his child in the car. Read the full story here.
  • On Jan. 3, Leocadia Troy-Ayala, 19, of North Bellmore, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Jones Avenue, Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • Sometime between Jan. 5 and Jan. 6, an unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear window of complainant’s 2002 gray Honda that was located on Shirley Lane. No loss was reported.
  • On Jan. 7, a complainant discovered the passenger side window of his vehicle broken and unknown suspect(s) stole an iPod. This happened on Pine Place.
  • Also on Jan. 7 on Pine Place, a complainant discovered the passenger side window of his 2011 black Nissan Altima was broken and unknown suspect(s) stole a backpack, personal papers, video game and credit cards.
  • On Jan. 9, Oscar Wagenbuchler, 37, of North Bellmore, was arrested on Merrick Road near Riverside Drive, Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and five violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

Seaford

  • Assorted cell phones were stolen from Verizon Wireless on Merrick Road in Seaford on Jan. 5. The point of entry was the front door.
  • An unknown suspect stole catalytic converters from two Pathfinders and one Xterra from Massapequa Nissan located on Sunrise Highway in Seaford. This happened on Jan. 5.
  • Sometime between Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, an unknown suspect(s) stole two tires and rims from complainant’s 2010 black Honda Accord that was located on Atlantic View Avenue.

 

Wantagh

  • Sometime between Jan. 4 and Jan. 5, a complainant discovered the driver side window of her 2007 black Honda Accord was broken and unknown suspect(s) stole a GPS.
  • On Jan. 6, James Barbosa, 21, of Levittown, was arrested on Wantagh Avenue near Laurel Lane, Wantagh and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree and one violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Jan. 7, Thomas Smith, 20, of Islip Terrace, was arrested on Railroad Avenue, Wantagh and charged with disorderly conduct sub six.
  • On Jan. 8, Yonny Romero, 23, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • A suspect(s) attempted to enter a home on Manchester Road on Jan. 8. The suspect(s) tried to enter through the window. No loss was reported.
