Crime Report: Burglary at Cedar Creek Plant, DWI Arrests

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th and 1st Precinct.

  • The Cedar Creek Water Pollution Control Plant in Wantagh was burglarized between Dec.13-14. Police said the front door of the plant was pried open with tools, a computer, a husky impact gun and a breaker all stolen.
  • On Dec. 14, Daniel Bliss, 48, of Hauppauge was arrested at  on 4055 Merrick Rd., Seaford and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of possession of a forged instrument, and unlawful use of a vehicle.
  • On Dec. 14, Peter Poulos, 17 of Seaford was arrested on Cedar Street in Seaford and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and driving while ability impaired combined influence of drugs or of alcohol as well as two vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • On Dec. 17, Tamara Lebo, 24 of Baldwin was arrested at the corner of Wantagh Avenue and Sunrise Highway in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • On Dec. 19, Cleveland Symister, 45 of New York City was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated and five vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • Three vehicles in Wantagh incurred criminal mischief between Dec. 18 and 19. An unknown suspect entered the yard of a home at the corner of Wantagh Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue and broke the driver side window of two vehicles. Another vehicle parked on Austin Avenue incurred damage to the driver side mirror.
  • The front window of a business on Merrick Road in Wantagh was discovered broken on Dec. 19.
  • Criminal mischief was incurred to a boat on Peconic Avenue in Seaford between Dec. 5-19. Police said the canvas was cut on the boat with four life vests, four fishing poles and two marine batteries missing.
