Crime Report: Drug Bust, Multiple Unlocked Car Break-ins

A look at criminal activity in Wantagh-Seaford during the past week.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Two Seaford men were arrested on drug possession, traffic violation and other charges after a traffic stop in Massapequa early Tuesday morning. For more on this story, click here.

  • Sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 29, a complainant said that while she was at the bank or Iavarone Brothers, an unknown suspect stole her wallet from her purse.
  • Sometime between 5 p.m. on July 30 and 8 a.m. on July 31, a duffel bag and electronics were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Tulip Lane in Wantagh.
  • Also on Tulip Lane in Wantagh, between 11:30 p.m. on July 30 and 8:30 a.m. on July 31, another unlocked vehicle was broken into, with cash and sunglasses being stolen.
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on July 30 and 8:30 a.m. on July 31, an unlocked vehicle on Mark Allen Drive in Wantagh was broken into, and a tote bag was stolen. 
  • Sometime between 11 p.m. on July 30 and 5:15 a.m. on July 31, an unlocked vehicle on Harvest Road in Wantagh was broken into, with a GPS and keys being taken.
  • Also on Harvest Road, between 9:30 p.m. on July 30 and 11 a.m. on July 31, a phone charger was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. 
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on July 30 and 10 a.m. on July 31, a chainsaw was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Heather Lane in Wantagh.
  • Also on Heather Lane, on July 31, before 8:45 a.m., gym items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Sometime before 8 a.m. on July 31, an unlocked vehicle was broken into on Daffodil Lane in Wantagh, and a GPS was stolen. 
  • On Aug. 6, between 7:19 a.m. and 7 p.m., a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Seaford LIRR Station. 
  • Between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 25, a bicycle was stolen from a driveway on Harvest Road in Wantagh.
  • Between July 30 and July 31, there were three complaints of unknown suspect(s) putting glue into front door locks at businesses on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh.
  • Between 6:20 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on Aug. 1, a car parked at the Seaford LIRR Station had its windows broken, although police said nothing was taken.
  • Sometime between 6 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 8, a lock of a vehicle was damaged while it was parked on Merrick Road in Seaford, and power tools were stolen. 
  • Sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 8, an unknown suspect stole the complainant's unlocked vehicle on Meadow Lane in Seaford.
  • On Aug. 10, at 3:14 a.m., Elaine Donahue, 36, of Seaford, was arrested at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Washington Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • On Aug. 11, at 3:37 a.m., Jessica Caso, 22, of Wantagh, was arrested on Riverside Drive and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated.
