Crime Report: DWI, Tires Slashed

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

  • On Oct. 24 a man reported discovering missing gas on his boat docked at the Wantagh Boat Basin on 1 King Rd. The complainant said he was on his boat on Oct. 23 with a full tank of gas and when he returned the next day the tank was almost empty.
  • A man who resides on Bayview Avenue in Wantagh reported to police on Oct. 29 that the bottom pane of his storm door was shattered by unknown suspects. The complainant stated that it was the second time the storm door was damaged with the other occurrence talking place on Oct. 9.
  • A Seaford teen was arrested by police on Oct. 30 and charged with driving while intoxicated with three passengers in the car including a 15-year old female. Police said Richard Weber, 18, was driving his 2009 Nissan in Wantagh with three passengers including one who was a 15-year old female who was released to her parent at the scene. Weber is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child 15 or younger under the Leandra Law, driving while ability impaired on drugs and alcohol and driving while ability impaired on alcohol. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 30
  • A man reported to police on Oct. 30 that the driver's side front and rear tires were slashed on his 2010 Hyundai while parked at the parking lot.
  • An attempted burglary of a home on Dogwood Lane in Seaford occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Oct 31, according to police. The attempted break-in occurred with the rear basement door. No items were removed.
  •  On Oct. 31 Jose Viera, 28, of Roosevelt was arrested at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Oakland Avenue in Wantagh and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  •  On Oct. 31, Emanual Turner, 28, of Wyandanch was arrested on Railroad Avenue in Wantagh and charged with disorderly conduct.
  •  A woman on James Road in Wantagh reported to police on Nov. 1 that a laptop and software were stolen from her 2010 Chrysler.

The information is taken directly from incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.
