Crime Report: Home Burglary, Stolen Bow and Arrows, DWIs

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 1st and 7th Precincts.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's First and Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • On Aug. 25, a man observed occupants of a 2001 blue Ford van exit the vehicle and approached the used cooking oil container at East Bay Diner on 3360 Merrick Rd, Seaford. The unknown suspects pried the lid open, inserted a hose and began pumping the oil. The complainant didn’t recognize the suspects so he asked them what they were doing and they stated they were there to pick up the oil.
  • A home on Jerusalem Avenue in Seaford was burglarized between Sept. 17-Oct. 8 with the point of entry through a break in the front window. No loss was reported.
  • A bow and 12 custom arrows were reported stolen from a home on Calley Lane in Wantagh on Oct. 1.
  • A vehicle parked on McClean Avenue in Wantagh was reported damaged on Oct. 3.
  • On Oct. 4, an unknown suspect poured an unknown liquid solution on the rear passenger door of the side panel of a 1999 white Chevy causing the paint to bubble.
  • A stolen pocketbook was reported at on 4055 Merrick Rd. in Seaford on Oct. 4. A complainant placed her pocketbook on the passenger side floor of her vehicle while she loaded groceries into her trunk and it was removed from the vehicle, police said.
  • On Oct. 5, Gabriel Scrivano, 19, of Bellmore, was arrested in and charged with driving while intoxicated and five violations of the vehicle and traffic Law.
  • On Oct. 6, a 71-year-old male was parking his car at the when a male, seemingly in his 40s, pulled into the lot beeping his horn. The unknown suspect exited his vehicle and approached the complainant with his fists up in his face, stated threatening words to him and spit in his face. When suspect left, he hip checked the complainant into the side of his car, according to police.
  • Sometime on Oct. 8, an unknown suspect broke the rear passenger side window of a vehicle that was parked on Taft Street. In Wantagh. No loss was reported.
  • On Oct. 9, Christopher A Henao, 24, of Wantagh, was arrested on Pine Street in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
