Crime Report: Phone Scam Victim, Stolen Boat GPS

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th, 1st and 2nd Precincts.

The information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct, First Precinct and Second Precinct incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

  • A woman on Cherrywood Drive in Wantagh reported to police on June 18 that she was the victim of a phone scam. Police said the woman received a call from an unknown suspect who stated that her granddaughter was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Las Vegas and needed money for an attorney. The woman complied and wired money to the suspect and then discovered it was a scam.
  • On June 20, Howard Corr was arrested at the intersection of Old Jerusalem Road and Wander Lane in Wantagh and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
  • A grand larceny incident on New Road in Seaford was reported to police on June 20.
  • On June 21, Thomas Corr was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation on North Jerusalem Road in Wantagh.
  • A white brick pillar on Jackson Avenue in Seaford by unknown suspect(s) on June 22.
  • A window to the lifeguard office at the in Wantagh was reported broken on June 22.
  • On June 23, Michael Kinnally, 29, of Wantagh was arrested on Wantagh Avenue near Poplar Place in Wantagh and charged with DWI and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • A man on Ocean Avenue in Seaford reported to police on June 24 that a GPS was stolen from his boat.
  • On June 24, Sean Stevens, 25, of Merrick was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Oakland Avenue in Wantagh and charged with DWI and three vehicle and traffic law violations.
