Crime Report: Robbery at Wantagh LIRR Station

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th and 1st Precinct.

  • On Nov. 23 Michael Wehle, 38, of Wyandanch was arrested at the corner of Jerusalem Avenue and Washington Avenue in Seaford and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
  • A woman at on 1100 Crestline Place, Seaford reported to police on Nov. 24 that her HTC Aira cell phone was stolen.
  • A man on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh reported to police on Nov. 24 that dried leaves in his engine compartment went on fire. The complainant was able to put out the fire with an extinguisher.
  • A man on Aaron Drive in Seaford reported to police hat his toolbox and various electrical tools were stolen from his 2000 Jeep between Nov. 24 and 25.
  • A man on Darby Lane in Seaford reported to police that $32 of cash and a Toto stuffed animal were stolen from his 2005 Cadillac.
  • A man on Condit Street in Seaford reported to police that a Garmin GPS was stolen from his unlocked 2009 Dodge between Nov. 25 and 27.
  • On Nov. 27 a man reported that an unknown person scratched his 2007 Mercedes Benz parked at the corner of Wantagh Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue in Wantagh.
  • On Nov. 28 Patrick Warde, 47, of North Massapequa was arrested at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and three vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • A 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle parked on Crown Street in Wantagh was stolen between Nov. 27 and 28.
  • A man reported to police on Nov. 28 that he was the victim of a robbery at the . Police said the victim reported stopping at the train station and talking on his phone, when an unknown black male approximately 5'7" wearing a black knit hat and a black puffy jacket asked him to use his cell phone. The victim reported that he allowed the suspect to use the phone and that he appeared to have a conversation with someone before starting to walk away. The victim grabbed the suspect's arm and the suspect proceeded to turn around and punch him in the face. The victim fell to the ground from the punch and reported seeing the suspect run toward a dark colored vehicle parked on Railroad Avenue. The suspect got into the vehicle and sped off eastbound on Railroad Avenue.
