Crime Report: Rocks Thrown at Seaford Avenue School, Home Burglary

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • A flower pot at on 3501 Merrick Rd., Seaford was reported damaged between July 30 and 31.
  • On Aug. 2, Justina Weyant, 21. of Wantagh was arrested at Kohl’s on 5300 Sunrise Hwy., Massapequa and charged with petit larceny.
  • A home on Woodward Avenue in Wantagh was burglarized on Aug. 2 at 11:30 a.m. The entry was made through an unlocked door with assorted jewelry removed from the house.
  • Three windows at the former Seaford Avenue School building were reported broken on Aug. 3. Police said the damage appears to have been caused by rocks being thrown at the building.
  • An unknown male suspect jumped on the hood and roof of a complainant’s 2003 gray Toyota Camry between Aug. 3-4 on 701 Demott Ave., Wantagh.
  • On Aug. 2, Gregory E Usher, 52, of Long Beach was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Seaford and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.  
  • On Aug. 6, Jason Zeccola, 29, of Seaford was arrested at his home and charged with third-degree criminal mischief.
