Crimes Nearby Part II: Calhoun Students Approached by Stranger, Hubcaps Stolen

Recent criminal activity reported in Bellmore, Merrick and East Meadow.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Bellmore

  • On April 30, Adrianne Greenberg, 51, of Merrick was arrested at the corner of Merrick Road and South St. Marks Avenue and charged with driving while ability impaired.
  • On May 4, Caterina Leonardo, 46, of Whitestone was arrested at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Bellmore Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated as well as three vehicle and traffic law violations.
East Meadow
  • A vehicle parked at Aura on Hempstead Turnpike had its window broken with various items removed on May 5.
Merrick
  • Hubcaps were removed from a vehicle parked on Stuyvestant Avenue between April 29-30.
  • A man was observed on video opening unlocked vehicle doors and attempting to open several other vehicles on Elliot Place on May 4. For more details and a video of the man, click here.
  • Calhoun High School students were approached by a stranger in a van on May 9, according to Principal David Seinfeld. For more details, click here
