Family Seeks Help Finding Missing Glen Cove Man

Nunzio Izzo last seen night of Dec. 17; family worried he is without seizure medication.

The family of a missing 56-year-old Glen Cove man is asking for the community's help in locating him.

Nunzio Izzo was last seen getting into a yellow cab in front of a friend's home on Madeline Pl. in Glen Cove on Monday, Dec. 17. He had been visiting there, said his brother-in-law, Anthony Bocchino.

Izzo suffers from medical conditions including epilepsy and takes medication to prevent seizures.

Bocchino said possible destinations for Izzo are limited. He had a few regular haunts around town, and he isn't able to walk very far due to a condition affecting his feet. He relies on cabs because he can't drive.

"He's a creature of habit," Bocchino said. "Friend's house, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-Eleven, that's it."

Izzo lives with his mother and has a girlfiend in East Meadow, but she said she hasn't heard from him since Dec. 15.

Bocchino said the family is not aware of any reason why Izzo might have strayed from his beaten path. He's a "regular guy" who is friendly with area cab drivers who he has gotten to know from his movements around town.

Glen Cove and Nassau County Police have been working the case, and a Silver Alert was issued.

Bocchino said Izzo's iPhone was last picked up in the vicinity of Forest Ave. in Glen Cove on Dec. 18.

Eileen, You were right. People should not poo poo psychic abilities. He was found, not far away from Taco Bell. And there is a church on Dosoris Way. Thank you for your input.

I do not thrive on misery or I would not have tried to help, but people like you are exactly why when working for a community in this way I get "garbage in, garbage out". Those who know, know what really went on. Many details have not been publicized and probably never will be. I am quite aware why. Enough said, at least in this venue. No one asked you for your opinion either Denise so I suggest you take your own advice.

Thank you Diane and also my thanks and sympathies to Nunzio's lady, I saw her post before it was removed. I also understand why it was removed. I had no connection to Nunzio, although if I had been exposed to some things that belonged to him it might have helped the connection there. This is only the second time I have tried to use my skills to help law enforcement and I now understand that I am obviously also going to pick up what others are feeling concerning the case. When people die traumatically and suddenly, sometimes they do not realize they are dead and the epilepsy did not help. This is where you get unrested spirits and my job as a shamanic practitioner is to help them move on. Often times this means I am dropping someone off into the care of a pair of what Judeo/Christians call angels to be brought to that afterlife but it does not always work out that way, every situation is unique. In Nunzio's case his spirit very much did not want to leave but ultimately he was helped to move on to the next phase of his existence. However, his connection with his significant other is still very strong, and if she carries the bell with her it will afford her a certain amount of protection in this life. He did see the bell before he left this existence and it meant a lot to him. I am sorry for the loss to the community and sorry I never got to meet this good person.
