Local Fire District Races Uncontested

Wantagh and Seaford Fire District commissioner elections slated for Tuesday.

Both the and commissioner elections scheduled this Tuesday feature uncontested races.

Incumbent Wantagh Fire District Commissioner John J Gillen is running unopposed for a second five-year term in Tuesday's election. Voting is scheduled from 2-9 p.m. at Station One on 3470 Park Ave., Wantagh; Station Two on 844 Wantagh Ave., Levittown; Station Three on 2529 Neptune Ave., Seaford; Station Four on 1191 Alken Ave., Seaford; and Station Five on 2985 Merrick Rd., Bellmore.

The Wantagh Fire District encompasses all of Wantagh and parts of Levittown, Seaford, East Meadow and Bellmore as well as and Massapequa's TOBAY Beach.

In the Seaford Fire District, former commissioner Frank Allaire is running unopposed for the seat being vacated by Paul Romano, who opted to not seek re-election. Allaire last served as a Seaford fire commissioner in the 1990’s. Voting is scheduled to take place between 6-9 p.m. at the Seaford Fire Department headquarters on 2170 Southard Ave., Seaford.
