Man Arrested at Wantagh LIRR Station on Felony Warrant Found With Items from Earlier Seaford Larceny

Defendant allegedly stole $14,000 worth of electronics from a car in Seaford the day before his arrest.

A Suffolk man was arrested by Nassau County police at the late Friday night on a felony warrant.

At the time of his arrest, officers found Jonathon Lewis, 26, of Wheatley Heights in possession of a box containing approximately $14,000 worth of electronics.

According to police:

Subsequent investigation revealed that Lewis had smashed the window of a Lexus parked on Collins Avenue in Seaford the day before and removed the items from the car. The victim, who had filed a report, identified the property as his.

The defendant gave officers a false name and could not produce identification. Lewis is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, False Personation and will be arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
