Man Stabbed in Wantagh After Beer Pong Argument

The victim was treated at a local hospital, cops said.

LONG ISLAND, NY -- A local man was arrested after a beer pong confrontation led to a man being stabbed, police said.

According to detectives, Michael Pelaez, 22, of Wantagh, and a 25-year-old male victim were playing in the garage of Palaez' home at 3:55 a.m. Monday when the argument ensued. 

Pelaez allegedly went into his home, retrieved a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the right hand. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment while Palaez was arrested at the scene.

Pelaez has been charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
