Man Stabbed Outside Wantagh 7-Eleven

The victim refused entry to two Hempstead men, who were armed with a knife and a baseball bat, cops said.

Two Hempstead men were charged with attempted robbery Sunday after one allegedly assaulted a 7-Eleven clerk with a knife after being denied entry to the store.

According to Nassau County Police, at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, the 69-year-old male victim was outside the Park Avenue location shaking out the store's runner rug when he was approached by Shamar Parker, 25, who was armed with a knife, and Elijah Coleman, 23, who was armed with a bat.

After being denied entry into 7-Eleven, cops said Parker stabbed the victim under the chin and sliced his face with his knife. Both suspects were spotted fleeing northbound on Beech Street.

After police were called, officers spotted the pair sitting in a vehicle in front of 1897 Beech St. Parker jumped out of the vehicle and fled northbound, and Coleman was arrested without incident.

At 8:13 a.m., Parker was spotted hiding under a bush in the rear yard of 3480 Roxbury Ave., and he was arrested.

The victim sustained facial lacerations, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.

Parker and Coleman were both charged with first and second-degree attempted robbery and two counts of second-degree assault. Additionally, Parker was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Their arraignments are scheduled for Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
