Missing Wantagh Teen Located

Silver Alert had been issued for 15-year old girl missing from Nassau Haven Group Home.

A Wantagh teen reported missing Sunday afternoon has been located.

The Nassau County Police Department had issued a Silver Alert for the 15-year old girl at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday. She had last been seen at the Nassau Haven Group Home on 1228 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh. At 5:08 p.m., police announced that the missing girl was located.

The Silver Alert Program is a county-wide law enforcement program which helps locate missing persons with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
