MTA Identifies Woman Who Jumped in Front of Train

Jerry Richardson, 46, jumped in front of the westbound 10:27 p.m. train from Babylon Sunday night at Merrick station.

MTA officials have identified the woman who jumped in front of a train and was killed at the Merrick LIRR Station at 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to officials, Jerry Richardson, 46, of Hempstead was struck by the 10:27 westbound train from Babylon that was due at Penn Station at 11:44 p.m.

Service was suspended for more than three hours while police investigated the manner.  

MTA Police and local emergency medical service personnel responded to the scene, but Richardson was dead and officially pronounced by the Nassau County Medical Examiner.
