Nassau Police Break Up Seaford Hostage Situation

Steven Esposito arrested after barricading himself with 12-year old son at Kenora Place home late Sunday night.

Nassau County Police responded to a hostage situation at a house in Seaford late Sunday night and controlled the situation to avoid any injuries.

Police said they received a call of a father barricading himself with his 12-year-old son in their home on Kenora Place and sent a hostage negotiation team to the scene. The hostage negotiators were able to talk the man out of the situation and the boy was freed to safety, according to police.

The father, Steven Esposito, 42, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and then arrested. Esposito is charged with third-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.
